I’m a data scientist from Culver City, CA who has no business doing pottery… and yet here we are.
My original home was Crawfordville, FL. I dare you to look it up. After graduating from Florida State University with my Master’s in Biostatistics, the natural next step was to move to Los Angeles with my then-boyfriend to continue making YouTube videos.
After shifting my focus from YouTube videos to an actual career, I landed a job in tech and do pottery as a great way to do something that has nothing to do with a computer.
What I love so much about pottery is how all skill levels get excited.
No matter if you’re a potter who has decades of experience, degrees in ceramics, or you just started last week, you’re probably counting down the minutes before you get back to the studio. Whether you’re working on your tallest vase yet, or the 100th bowl that you really meant to be a mug, it’s just fun.
Who knew that playing with dirt would spark so much joy? That’s what I mean by potential.
